I am a Professor of Political Science
at Universidad Diego Portales.
My research addresses how elites' reactions to the externalities of inequality impact redistributive policies and democratic governance, with a regional focus on Latin America and South Africa.
I also work on developing methods for statistical inference with qualitative data, particularly in the context of process tracing.
Beyond UDP, I am affiliated with the
Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy at the
Geneva Graduate Institute,
and a superb cook.
